Magdalena Tokarzewski PMHNP-BC
I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner licensed in the state of CT and MA. I graduated with honors from University of Saint Joseph in 2020 where I obtained my master's degree in psychiatric nursing. I have over 15 years of nursing experience in diverse clinical settings and work with adults ages 18 and above. I specialize in evaluating, diagnosing and treating various mental health conditions. Prior to obtaining my PMHNP degree, I worked as a register nurse in critical care setting for over 10 years. I've spent the last 3 years working with clients struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. I am passionate about mental health because I've seen the impact it can have on individuals and society. Most of us will face challenges and mental health problems at some point in our life. It is important that we decrease the stigma around asking for help and feel comfortable with speaking out about our struggles. I diagnose and treat per evidence-based practice and take client-centered approach to mental health, recognizing that each client is unique and has their own set of needs and goals. I am dedicated to providing the highest quality care to my patients and strive to provide my clients with the tools and support they need to achieve optimal mental wellness and lead fulfilling lives.
How do you know when to seek help?
* When your daily life becomes challenging, even when stressors haven't changed and you notice changes in eating, sleeping patterns and having intense emotions, such as anxiety or despair.
* When your symptoms cause significant distress or impairment in social, occupational and other important areas of functioning.
